Australian NaturalCare Super Strength Cod Liver Oil 1g is a source of vitamins A and D, which help support immune system health and bone health. Vitamin A helps protect the respiratory mucous membranes. Vitamin D is also essential for immune system function plus aids calcium absorption, and along with vitamin A, provides nutritional support for healthy bones. The difference between standard fish oil and cod liver oil is that fish oil is a natural source of the important omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, but only has trace amounts of important vitamins A & D. Cod liver, on the other hand, naturally contains both vitamin A and D, but only trace amounts of EPA and DHA.

If you are pregnant – or considering becoming pregnant – do not take vitamin A supplements without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. The recommended daily amount of vitamin A from all sources is 700 micrograms retinol equivalents for women and 900 micrograms retinol equivalents for men. When taken in excess of 3000 micrograms retinol equivalents – vitamin A can cause birth defects. Not to be used in children under two years of age without medical advice.
